The UK Housing Market Remains Open During Third Lockdown.

Following the announcement that the UK will enter into a third national lockdown on Wednesday 6th January, the government has confirmed that the housing market will remain open during this period.

Without a doubt, the latest lockdown news is disappointing however the positive that can be taken from this is that all residential property sales and lets can continue. The safety of our clients and staff is paramount and the teams will continue to rigorously adhere to the safety measures to ensure their wellbeing.

Since the market reopened after the first lockdown in June, Seymours has continued to operate rigorously adhering to the guidelines set out by the government to ensure the wellbeing of our clients, staff, and community safe. Our focus remains, as always, safety first, business second.

With this in mind, we are detailing the below as a reminder of the processes in place to ensure your continued protection, now and in the future.

PEOPLE

Our staff has been fully trained and keeps safety at the forefront as we continue to provide our clients with sales, lettings and, New Homes services.

Government guidance on social distancing measures is adhered to at all times. The teams use face coverings, we promote regular hand washing and make sanitiser readily available for any visitors.

Regular health checks are employed to ensure no health conditions have changed within the team since the previous day.

OFFICES

All of our branches remain open however some are working on an appointment-only basis. Where possible we will operate separate office bubbles to ensure a continuity of service.

We would always recommend calling our branches first, this way we can ensure you can speak to the person you need promptly, even if they are working remotely.

VALUATIONS

Property valuations will continue as normal, and we provide both virtual and physical valuations, both of which can be booked here. We promote a virtual-first policy however if you prefer a physical valuation, the steps employed to protect your safety will be:

• Asking questions regarding potential COVID symptoms and whether you or members of your household are self-isolating
• All parties must wear face coverings masks, maintain a distance of 2 metres apart at all times and avoid physical contact.
• We may ask occupiers to open all doors, to avoid unnecessary contact.
• Literature for marketing processes will likely to be shown in a digital format

VIEWINGS

We will offer virtual and physical viewings, however, we will be operating a virtual-first policy, particularly for first viewings. If physical viewings take place the safety measures detailed above will also apply.

All viewings must be booked in advance and confirmed in writing before any appointments take place. For occupied properties, where possible, we will ask the occupant and their family to vacate the premises, and we will need to keep the viewings brief.

Seymours will undertake, to its best endeavours, every precaution possible to protect you, their staff and the community. We will continue to review our policies to ensure they remain relevant whilst we continue to support you through the selling, letting or buying process.
