Festive fundraising at Seymours Godalming will benefit The Meath

This winter we will be celebrating Christmas Jumper Day and updating our widow displays to help raise vital funds for The Meath Epilepsy Charity’s Yule Fuel Appeal. On Thursday 8th December we will pull on our festive knits to show our ongoing support for this wonderful local charity.

The Meath

The Meath Epilepsy Charity is a very special care home in Godalming, which supports vulnerable adults who live with complex epilepsy and disabilities to live as safely and independently as possible.

The charity is working hard to sustain the vital services they offer for the people they support, but the energy and cost of living crisis mean that their funding gap is widening, and it is becoming increasingly difficult to cover the true cost of care.

Yule Fuel Appeal

Helen Jackson, Head of Marketing for The Meath said: “We recently launched our Yule Fuel Appeal with the support of Seymours and other local businesses. With a gas bill increase of 500%, we are appealing for help to keep the vulnerable people we support warm this winter.

“We are so grateful to Seymours Godalming and all in our community who are kindly supporting The Meath Yule Fuel appeal this winter, with a Christmas Jumper Day or through donations made directly to the appeal.

“This year is one of the hardest years in the long 130 year history of the charity. The fuel crisis, combined with the cost of living crisis has presented some serious challenges as we strive to continue providing the best services possible for vulnerable adults.

“Any donations raised by Seymours and the community will make a genuinely positive difference to the lives of the wonderful people we support. Thank you.”

Please help to support The Meath at this challenging time. To find out more about the positive impact that your support will make please visit The Meath’s website here.

Seymours In The Community

We care about our community and we are proud to support many local groups and organisations including The Meath, Farncombe Youth Football Club, Chiddingfold Cricket Club and The Prostate Project.

As we look ahead to 2023, we are already planning a range of activities that will make a positive difference to these organisations.
