FAQ’s

Is Burpham a good commuter town to London?

Whilst Burpham does not have a train station it is close enough to Guildford and Worplesdon to provide a relatively easy commute to Guildford. Whilst Guildford might be the obvious choice for a commute, it is Worplesdon which the locals recommend as it is easier to get to, has quicker trains to London (just over 30 minutes) and better parking options.

Burpham also provide great road links and the A3 junction is a few minutes’ drive away taking you to London and Portsmouth, and to the connecting M25 and routes onward.

Burpham also has a great bus route, which is not always an obvious choice but obviously a quick and convenient link to Guildford, particularly for growing families.

Does Burpham have good schools?

Burpham and the surrounding areas of Merrow and Guildford have a number of outstanding school options. Burpham itself has Burpham Foundation Primary School on Burpham Lane, which feeds into George Abbott School in Guildford. Another outstanding Secondary school option is Guildford County School. Guildford is also well served in terms of private education with Tormead, Guildford High School and the Royal Grammar School.

Merrow also has St Peter’s Catholic School in Horseshoe Lane East and Merrow CofE Infant school.

With the number of outstanding schools available, one thing is for sure, if you are living in Burpham, you are securing an excellent education for your children.

I’m considering a move to Burpham, what is it like to live there?

Burpham proves incredibly popular for a number of reasons, commuting outside of the area is very easy with the A3 junction close by – which cuts out a lot of the town centre congestion. You have your choice of supermarkets and Kingpost Parade, just off London Road, where our office is located, provides a number of fine takeaways, a wine shop, bakery as well as many other options.

When it comes to the countryside, our local area is truly blessed with the Surrey Hills, St Martha’s Hill, Merrow Down and Newlands Corner – to name put a few however Burpham also has the Sutherland Memorial Park, which provides a wide range of sporting and recreational activities as well as a playground.

One of the beauties of Burpham is that, whatever you cannot find on your doorstep is available within a very short drive – what more could you ask for?

All the staff are really helpful and they really understand the local market and area. Clive really went the extra mile in helping to close out our sale when last minute problems arose, which was a big help to all in the chain.

If you’re looking to buy or sell in Burpham, Merrow, and the surrounding areas, look no further. Seymours Burpham have a wealth of expertise in the local market. We have bought through them three times and sold twice, and every engagement with the team has exceeded our expectations. Most recently Seymours managed to secure our new home for our growing family, in a difficult market. Seymours valuations are realistic and never over inflated just to secure you as a client, every time we have sold with Seymour’s we have achieved asking price or more, because of their expertise and accurate valuations. Don’t be fooled by other agents who may over promise and under deliver! Seymours are always on hand with a friendly approachable team, and will guide you through the complexities of the buying and selling process, whether you’re a first time buyer, or downsizer! We would highly recommend the team time and time again. A particular mention to Tracey who has always been pivotal to our pleasant experience with the team and majority of our purchases and sales, and most recently Alex and Elisha who were fantastic with our recent sale and purchase.

Sold and bought through Seymour’s multiple times. Both times selling my property within 2 weeks and over the asking price. The very best in the area

Tracey and Alex were extremely patient with us and persistent in getting our move completed despite many bumps in the road. They were considerate with their recommendations and always contactable/approachable. We sold and bought with Seymours Burpham and wouldn’t hesitate to do so again in the future. Thank you.

We have nothing but good things to say about our dealings with Seymours in Burpham. Adam visited our flat and was professional and friendly. I felt reassured that he would do a good job marketing the property. He kept in regular contact and negotiated brilliantly to get us a buyer at a price we were happy with. A big thank you to Adam and Aleisha. We definitely recommend Seymours.
