It is always difficult choosing the right estate agent to handle what can be the difficult process of selling a property. I am pleased to say that in my case the right choice was made with Seymours. The early phases of the sale were competently handled by Adam, Chris and Jo, with the ongoing negotiations, which were not always straightforward, being calmly steered through by Clive. Many thanks to all.

We used Seymours in Burpham as they are our nearest estate agents. Setting up to sell was very straightforward with one contractor booked to take the all important photos, measurements for the floorpan and the EPC during one visit. A convenient date was arranged for weekend viewings, but we had several viewings even before that date such was the interest in our property. Once we had accepted an offer we were passed to an experienced negotiator (Clive Gee) who calmly and pragmatically kept us informed about progress with our sale.

      FAQ’s

Is Burpham a good commuter town to London?

Whilst Burpham does not have a train station it is close enough to Guildford and Worplesdon to provide a relatively easy commute to Guildford. Whilst Guildford might be the obvious choice for a commute, it is Worplesdon which the locals recommend as it is easier to get to, has quicker trains to London (just over 30 minutes) and better parking options.

Burpham also provide great road links and the A3 junction is a few minutes’ drive away taking you to London and Portsmouth, and to the connecting M25 and routes onward.

Burpham also has a great bus route, which is not always an obvious choice but obviously a quick and convenient link to Guildford, particularly for growing families.

      Does Burpham have good schools?

Burpham and the surrounding areas of Merrow and Guildford have a number of outstanding school options. Burpham itself has Burpham Foundation Primary School on Burpham Lane, which feeds into George Abbott School in Guildford. Another outstanding Secondary school option is Guildford County School. Guildford is also well served in terms of private education with Tormead, Guildford High School and the Royal Grammar School.

Merrow also has St Peter’s Catholic School in Horseshoe Lane East and Merrow CofE Infant school.

With the number of outstanding schools available, one thing is for sure, if you are living in Burpham, you are securing an excellent education for your children.

I’m considering a move to Burpham, what is it like to live there?

Burpham proves incredibly popular for a number of reasons, commuting outside of the area is very easy with the A3 junction close by – which cuts out a lot of the town centre congestion. You have your choice of supermarkets and Kingpost Parade, just off London Road, where our office is located, provides a number of fine takeaways, a wine shop, bakery as well as many other options.

When it comes to the countryside, our local area is truly blessed with the Surrey Hills, St Martha’s Hill, Merrow Down and Newlands Corner – to name put a few however Burpham also has the Sutherland Memorial Park, which provides a wide range of sporting and recreational activities as well as a playground.

One of the beauties of Burpham is that, whatever you cannot find on your doorstep is available within a very short drive – what more could you ask for?
