Impact of stock shortage

“These market conditions are pushing local property prices up and we are achieving over the asking price for many homes.

“While it is a competitive market for buyers, the spring market does provide an opportunity for sellers to realise their homes full potential.”

Record asking prices

Average asking prices for homes coming on to the market increased by a record 2.3% in February according to Rightmove.

Data from the property portal reveals that prices are now 9.5% higher than a year ago – the highest annual rate of growth since September 2014.

This incredible record means that average asking prices have risen by nearly £40,000 in the two years since the pandemic began. This is a huge leap when compared with an increase of just over £9,000 in the previous two years.

Honest Property Valuations
