UK property market remains open allowing people to move during the second lockdown

The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government has separately reported and confirmed that the home moving process is not impacted as the sector already has robust COVID-secure policies in place.  So, for anyone thinking of coming to the market, they can feel reassured that property valuations and viewings can still go ahead.

The safety measures implemented earlier this year will continue to be rigorously adhered to ensuring the safety of our clients, staff, and our community. Our focus remains, as always, safety first, business second.

With this in mind, below is a reminder of the processes in place to ensure your continued protection, now and in the future.

OFFICES

All of our branches remain open however some are working on an appointment-only basis. Where possible, we are working in ‘bubbles’ to ensure continuity of service. During this period, we would always recommend calling our branches first as opposed to popping in, this way we can ensure you can speak to the person you need promptly, even if they are working remotely.

PEOPLE

Our teams have been fully trained and keep safety at the forefront as we continue to provide our clients with sales, lettings and, New Homes services.

We continue to adhere to the Government guidance on social distancing measures and the use of face coverings to help safeguard our teams and you. We also promote regular hand washing and make sanitiser readily available for any visitors.

We also carry out daily health checks with our teams to ensure no health conditions have changed since the previous day.

VALUATIONS

Property valuations are still taking place and we are offering a variety of ways to value your home.  We can offer both virtual and physical valuations, both of which you can book here. If you do opt for a physical valuation, this will be by appointment only and there will be a number of steps we employ to ensure your safety including:

  • Asking questions regarding potential COVID symptoms and whether members of your household are self-isolating
  • Requesting all parties to wear masks, avoid physical contact, and remain 2 metres apart at all times.
  • Asking occupiers to open all doors to avoid unnecessary contact
  • Showing literature for marketing processes in a digital rather than physical format.

VIEWINGS

As with valuations we will offer virtual and physical options however, we will promote the use of technology where possible, particularly for first viewings. If physical viewings take place the safety measures detailed above will also apply.

All viewings will be by appointment only and confirmed in writing before any appointments take place. For occupied properties, where possible, we will ask the occupant and their family to vacate the premises, and we will need to keep the viewings brief.

We will continue to monitor any announcements made by the Government in the coming days and communicating closely with our clients to guide them through these changing times.  If you have any questions or concerns please don’t hesitate to pick up the phone and contact your local Seymours branch.
