Over the last few months Seymours Haslemere has continued to achieve a high volume of sales and lets agreed – a sure sign that the local property market isn’t losing momentum.

While the economic climate has shifted following the property boom of 2021, Joss Cooper, co-owner of Seymours Haslemere explains why the market is still very much active.

Joss explains: “While the UK property market may be showing modest signs of slowing, we must remember that annual house price growth is still higher than this time last year and monthly rental prices continue to increase.

“While our buyers and tenants are certainly being more cautious, they aren’t being deterred from moving forward. They are taking professional advice and making sensible budget decisions that they feel comfortable with in the short and longer term.  Sellers on the other hand are still keen to achieve the best possible price, as are landlords, so we provide honest valuations that help them to achieve their goals.

Leading Haslemere estate agents

“Our sales team haven’t experienced a downturn in activity over recent months, in fact they achieved more sales agreed between 1st July 2022 through to 1st October 2022 than all other local agents.* Meanwhile rental properties that we bring to market are being let within days. There is amazingly high competition for good family homes to rent.

“Overall, the rental market is seeing good growth and according to the recent index from HomeLet, rents rose in every area of the UK in September. With a shortage in rental property in Haslemere, the area could quickly become more attractive to landlords.

Demand for property continues

“I believe that the Haslemere market is extremely resilient due to demand for property in the town and surrounding villages. Haslemere is such a popular place to live as it offers a fantastic lifestyle. This bustling market town has a wonderful high street, highly regarded schools, transport links, and it is surrounded by stunning countryside.”
