Seymours Haslemere outperforms other local estate agents

Our experts are busy marketing a range of exciting properties for sale and to rent in Haslemere and the surrounding villages. Our property portfolio includes everything from luxury apartments through to spacious family homes, and character cottages.

Many sellers and landlords are opting to market their homes with us this summer, based on our service and consistent track record in sales and lettings. Over the last twelve months we have outperformed other local estate and letting agents.

Haslemere property market

Joss Cooper, co-owner of Seymours Haslemere, commented: “Despite interest rate hikes and economic uncertainty, there is no sign of the local market slowing. There continues to be huge demand for property as Haslemere is such a sought-after town to live.

“The issue we face is lack of stock to meet the ongoing demand, so now is a great time to bring a property to market.  Family homes are still top of the list for buyers who are looking to upsize, while we have also noticed a slight increase in buyers looking to downsize.”

Demand for homes

Through our network of offices, we have access to The Guild of Property Professionals – an organisation which sets exceptional standards within our industry. Through The Guild we gain up-to-date insights into the property market.

Iain McKenzie, CEO of The Guild of Property Professionals recently commented: “After a slight dip in April, the number of property transactions has increased again, with over 100,000 homes being sold in May.

“The market continues to defy expectations that a slowdown is looming and it appears that increases to the cost of living and interest rates haven’t deterred people from finding the right property.

“As the demand for homes remains robust, so too will house prices, and while first-time buyers might be looking for something more affordable, it is unlikely that we will see a dramatic readjustment anytime soon.

“Estate agents continue to see a shortage of stock, with buyers ready and waiting for them to offer up a new property for sale. So long as these factors remain the same, sales will likely continue moving upwards, despite the current economic conditions.”

Buyer & seller confidence

While confidence in the Haslemere property market remains strong, it is also the picture across the rest of the UK. OnTheMarket recently revealed its Property Sentiment Index for May 2022 which highlights remarkable buyer and seller confidence.

From a sample of sellers surveyed, 82% were confident that they would sell their property within the next 3 months, which is unchanged when compared to April 2022.

75% of buyers surveyed were confident that they would purchase a property within the next 3 months – just a slight decrease when compared to April 2022 (76%).
