Seymours raise £14,000 at charity Golf fundraiser
09 September, 2022Seymours Estate Agents welcomed 60 players in 15 teams competing for a charity fundraiser at West Byfleet Golf Club in aid of Woking & Sam Beare Hospices.
This year Seymours have pledged to raise £25,000 in aid of Woking & Sam Beare Hospice and Wellbeing Care – a charity that cares for over 2,000 patients and their carers and families each year. To this end, we invited Surrey’s most prominent property professionals and property developers to participate in a golf tournament.
Evening entertainment was in the form of a charity auction, where we were joined by guest speaker Nick Fry, non-executive Chairman at McLaren Applied.
A warm and sunny Thursday morning saw partners Franco Orlando and John Ferrucci greeting players and it was great to see the comradery and warm atmosphere from the very start. Dressed in our new Seymours branded golf shirts everyone seemed to be in great spirits as they were welcomed by the hosts of West Byfleet Golf Club.
Preparation varied from practice swings to limbering up with a beverage or two before play started. Talking after the event Partner John Ferrucci wanted to thank everyone for their support and express what a great day was had by everyone attending, including all the Seymours staff playing and those behind the scenes that put so much work in organising such a high profile fundraising event. John said “we are so delighted that we’ve nearly hit our target of raising £25,000 in 2022 for Woking & Sam Beare Hospices”.
Congratulations to all our winners:
Individual ladies winner – Claire Goodberry
Individual winner men – James Devane
Winning Team – Peacock Construction (Martin Ewins, James Devane, Simon Jones and Aaron Power)
Nearest to the pin – Aaron Power and Ashleigh McCabe
Longest Drive – Paddy Hewitt and Tom Hawkin
Our pre-dinner entertainment was a Q&A with Nick Fry, non-executive Charman at McLaren Applied answering questions about his history and how he got started in Formula 1. How he was at centre of turning the championship winning phoenix that was BrawnGP turning into the winning machine that is Mercedes-AMG. His insightful and inspirational talk focused on the drivers and what makes them winners – the difference in mentality. His charisma and passion was obvious and was an enthralling talk for everyone attending – we were thrilled to have Nick participate and donate prizes for the action that followed.
As we moved into the evening’s entertainment, our very own Corporate Relocation Lettings Director, Nolan Dark, sang a selection of Opera and singalong classics such as Sweet Caroline to get the crowd going, before introducing our guest speaker who was interviewed by Lucy McNally from Woking & Sam Beare Hospices.
Before the event we held an online auction for prizes with the top 5 prizes auctioned on the night, including of tour of the McLaren MTC which raised £1,500 from the winning bid.
The fantastic total raised on the day was just over £14,000.
